Tea #12 - Happy Kombucha

Happy Kombucha - DAVIDsTEA

Things that are tropical are kind of my jam, so when I smelled this I was really excited about it.  Unfortunately, it smelled way better than it tasted.  I mean, it tasted alright, it just didn't pack the punch I was hoping for.  I left it on my desk for a little bit, and when I went back to it, it had cooled down.  After tasting it cold, I think it would be better as an iced tea-- especially if you added a little bit of honey to it.  As a hot tea though, not so much.

Tea #11 - Jessie's Tea

Jessie's Tea - DAVIDsTEA

Smell Vs Taste:  3.5

The name Jessie's Tea isn't very descriptive, so when we picked this as our tea of the day, I honestly had no idea what we were in for.  It's definitely a pretty tea, a rooibos with lavender, cornflowers, and coconut bits.  When I first smelled it, the strongest smell to me was the coconut, then a slight lavender smell, and even a bit of a mintiness.  Steeped, the smell changes so the mint smells stronger than the coconut-- which is interesting, considering there isn't any mint in this tea.  I could taste the coconut again once the tea steeped... and also the ghost mint... which isn't there.  I like this tea, it has kind of a delicate flavor which is nice.  But, i'm still not convinced there isn't mint in it.

Tea #10 - Organic North African Mint

Organic North African Mint - DAVIDsTEA

This tea was quite pleasant! When I first smelled it, I immediately smelled the mint but it also had a big of a spiciness to it as well.  The spice reminded me of mulled wine at Christmas time-- like the same type of cinnamony, peppery, warm scents.  Combined with the refreshing, clean mint tea, it was a really interesting balance. I approve. :)

Tea cups and stuff!

I went to the flea market today and got some pretty tea cups and saucers and things! Yay!

The lady I bought two of the teacups from told me that I was a very nice girl who didn't have any earrings or tattoos.  And also, she liked my natural hair color.  I think her sight might not have been so good... haha.  But she seemed nice!

It smells like a chai, tastes like a chai, looks like a chai... must be a chai!  I love myself a yummy chai tea and this one is great! It's exactly what I'd expect from a chai tea.  Nothing more, nothing less.  Delicious!

In the past, I've never really found an oolong I enjoyed, but this is one I can get behind!  It has a refreshing, sweet and fruity taste and smells absolutely delicious.  And with the fruit pieces blended with the oolong tea leaves, it's a very pretty looking tea as well.  Hmm... I think this might be my gateway oolong.

Tea #7 - Goji Pop

Alright, Goji Pop.  This is one yummy smelling tea!  Nice and fruity, smells both deliciously sweet and tangy at the same time.  And just look at the tea! It's very pretty, both steeped (such a fun pink color!) and dry.  But, unfortunately the taste of the tea leaves a lot to be desired.  It has a very very light flavor... so light, in fact, I could hardly taste it.... like... at all.  If i wanted to drink pink water, I could use food coloring.  Sigh.

I LOOOOOVE this tea! It's definitely a favorite of mine.   When you look at it, it doesn't look like much.  Just black tea leaves with a big of orange peel.  But boy, oh boy. As soon as you open the lid of the tea, it fills the room with a delicious cinnamon scent.  And the taste matches the smell-- strong cinnamon notes with a hint of citrus.  Absolutely delicious.  Perfect for fall too!

Tea #5 - Coffee Pu'erh

Ok, first of all, I want to express that I love coffee so when we decided on Coffee Pu'erh I was really excited.  Best of both worlds, right? But unfortunately, this tea did not live up to my expectations.  While the tea was pretty too look at with whole coffee beans in it, the smell and taste just didn't do it for me.  This tea tasted more like a combination of dirt and coffee grounds than the delicious coffee tea hybrid I was hoping for.

Tea #4 - Wedding Blend

Wedding Blend - Murchie's

Murchie's Wedding Blend is a very pretty looking tea.  I love the flower petals mixed with the black tea leaves and it produces a lovely dark color tea.  It smells to me a lot like an flowery Earl Grey (and I'm a huge Earl Grey fan!), so when I had my first sip, that was kind of what I was expecting to taste.  However, the smell does not match the taste at all! This to me tastes like an average black tea.  It was alright, but just didn't meet my expectations.

I enjoyed this tea.   It is a beautiful blend of white and black tea and smelled surprisingly like mint chocolate.  I really didn't taste the chocolate as much as I smelled it, although it definitely tasted light and minty.  All in all, a nice tea.

5's across the board! This tea smells as good as it tastes!  A lovely blend of black tea and fruit without being overly fruity.  I feel quite fancy drinking this tea.  I give it a pinky up. Pip pip cheerio!

Tea #1 - Buttered Rum

Holy moly.  This tea smells like a baked dessert! I totally smell the decadent butteriness (butteriness is a word... right?).  It's a pretty tea too-- looks like bits of toasted coconut mixed in along with black tea leaves.  The taste, while delicious, was slightly less buttery and sweet than i was expecting from the smell. Yum.  This is a dessert in tea form.
